Toilet maintenance 101

With time and usage toilets can become loose and the wax seal underneath can deteriorate. Water can leak below the toilet and cause damage to components within the floor and ceiling below. It is recommended to maintain the toilet by tightening the bolts, and updating the caulking to minimize movement. If you notice movement it is a good idea to remove the toilet, reinstall the wax seal, make any needed improvements, examine the floor, and reinstall the toilet.
